How to Craft a Wood Slice Ring Lamp

There’s something magical about bringing the outdoors inside. In this project, we’re taking a raw, rustic wood slice and transforming it into a modern, glowing “Ring Lamp” using nothing but a few power tools and your creativity.

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a DIY beginner, this project is the perfect way to master your DEKO Jigsaw and Power Drill while creating a unique statement piece for your home. 

To get that professional finish, you’ll need the right team of tools:

  • DEKO Power Drill (with a large wood drill bit)

  • DEKO Jigsaw (with a wood-cutting blade)

  • A Natural Wood Slice (roughly 5-8cm thick)

  • Sandpaper 

  • Light Socket Kit & Edison-style LED bulb

There are only a few steps:

First, trace your circle. Mark your cutting lines to find the perfect ring shape.

Second, drill a pilot. Punch a hole inside your line to give the jigsaw a place to start.

Third, carve the center. Follow the curve with your jigsaw until the center pops out.

Next, prep the socket. Drill a hole through the top for your light kit and cord.

Then, smooth it out. Give the wood some love with a thorough, buttery-smooth sanding.

And last, install your bulb, plug it in, and enjoy your new handmade vibe!
