Auto-Darkening TIG MIG ARC Welding Helmet Hood Black DNS-550E

i have been welding for 40 years and have used many welding hoods. i have 2 of these, one at work and one at my home shop. my boss even bought one. the first one i have had for about 6 month and have had no issues except for the head strap striped out within a week. both mine and my bosses have striped out. replaced the head strap with other ones from old helmets. very easy to see when welding and i have little issues with it fogging up. setting adjust easily.

I bought this to use at work instead if the crappy welding helmet provided and I really enjoy it. I only really use it for an hour or so each day and had it for about 2 weeks so far and dont have any complaints.

So the hood is really adjustable and comfortable, and the amount of vision you get when looking through is really clear with the full color screen. Welding is the clearest vision I've ever had while welding mig and tig but the sensitivity is real sensitive in all the wrong ways. Had to turn up the sensitivity all the way up in order just to not be blinded and I'm pretty sure the the shader dial on the outside doesnt even affect the hood. It still seems that no matter how it's set up it will most likely flash you over and over again. Not sure if I can recommend it but if you've got the money then send it. If you're a welder just starting out, then maybe find another hood.

By far the best welding helmet I've ever had, or have ever come across. I could NOT bring myself to buy a helmet for hundreds of dollars, that's just ridiculous and there is NO reason for it. If you would like a better welding helmet and spend 1/3 of the cost look no further! And the head strap is super comfortable! As I mentioned, best all-around welding helmet ever!

This helmet is very comfortable and easy to adjust. The big view is helpful for when I am about to weld and can stop when i see someone passing by who does not have anything to block the light. In turn, this helmet is saving me from blinding one of my coworkers while also making sure i get the job done with a big view to see the travel of the arc. Other than that, this is an amazing helmet recommended to me by a coworker and i am very pleased with this!
