HALLOWEEN CRAFT IDEA: HOW TO DIY A PUMPKIN COASTER

Get Ready for a Spooky DIY Season!

Halloween is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to add some handcrafted, spooky charm to your home! Instead of buying decorations, why not create something unique, sustainable, and fun? In this DIY tutorial, we’ll show you how to turn ordinary scrap wood into an extraordinary glowing pumpkin coaster that’s perfect for your festive drinks. The secret weapon for those intricate details? Our versatile DEKO Mini Electric Grinder!

What You’ll Need: Gather Your Materials & DEKO Tools

Before we dive into the fun, make sure you have everything ready. This project is great for using up those smaller pieces of wood lying around your workshop.

Materials:

  • Scrap wood (plywood or any suitable wood you have)
  • Wood glue
  • Sandpaper (various grits)
  • Small LED tea light or string light (to make it glow!)
  • Pencil
  • Pumpkin template (you can print one online or freehand it)
  • Wood finish/sealant (optional)

DEKO Tools:

  • DEKO Mini Electric Grinder (with carving/shaping bits and sanding drums)
  • Clamps (to hold wood while glue dries)
  • Safety glasses and gloves (always prioritize safety!)

Preparation: Wood chips, thin wood boards, glue, glue molds, magnetic button lights, mini electric grinder

There are the steps:

First, precisely cut the thin wood to form the pumpkin shape for the coaster.

Second, tightly arrange and fit the remaining scrap wood blocks within the prepared mold setup.

Next, saturate the wood chips by pouring the epoxy resin into the mold, ensuring complete bonding.

Then, gently release the fully cured coaster block from the mold, ensuring the edges are clean and intact.

Afterward, flip the block over and accurately mark the dimensions and location for the LED button light cavity.

Following that, attach a carving bit to the Mini Electric Grinder to precisely carve the shallow cavity for the light source.

Subsequently, insert and secure the LED button light into the carved cavity, ensuring a flush fit with the coaster base.

Finally, complete the final sanding, apply the desired finish, and test the illumination.

Now the glowing coaster with a full Halloween atmosphere are ready!
