Using this for hobby welding. Price is unbeatable. Works really well. Also purchased another more expensive yeswelder helmet where the side auto darkening lenses. Yeswelder customer service very responsive and well coordinated. My second helmet arrived and had a crack one of the lenses, they immediately resolved this for me without hassle. Compared this to my Miller infinity and I would say it’s on par for a fraction of the cost.
I searched a lot of products and found this one. For the price you can not beat it. Being able to see what I am welding before I strike a arch is priceless !!!
Excellent auto-dark. I'm finishing up my wedding program at college and this has served me since the second week in. Been through couple thousand SMAW rods, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, Oxy, plasma cutting, tons of grinding and chipping and I'm still on the first shade cover. It's not a pro level shield, but if you've been through a welding program you know how much time you spend in the booth, so this has been through it's paces. Great price point to be able to get access to a quality auto darkening hood which is a must have over the passive shades. Really love the true color as well. No green tint! The side view windows are great as well! If you're starting out and want an auto dark this is a great place to start!
I'll start by saying: what's NOT to like? I've used other name brand welding helmets over the years that cost three to four times as much and now I'm wondering why I did that. This helmet has all of the features you'd possibly need and does great job of protecting you. It's reasonably comfortable, (let's face it, anytime you're wearing head/face protection for a long time it sucks) it has plenty of adjustability, and gives you really good visibility.
I'd buy one again in a heartbeat and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a great mask at a great price!
